MY FAVORITE MONSOON HOLIDAY DESTINATION IN INDIA

As you all know, the monsoon season in India usually begins in June and lasts till September. It is also called the rainy season.

The Earth welcomes the showers from the sky and is a blessing for plantation and humanity. During this season plants grow absorbing natural water and earth seems like a Green carpet. In India there are so many beautiful places to visit during the  Monsoon. One of such beautiful places I want to describe in India is Munnar.

Like everyone else, I'm unsure of where I should go on my monsoon vacation. After doing a lot of research, I chose to go to Munnar in Kerala, and the experience was unforgettable. There are numerous packages for visiting this location.  I insist you to go on any packages so as to cover more places at a cheaper price.

I also went on a package which offers 3 Nights and 4 days trip to that wonderful place. I traveled from Hyderabad Airport to Koch. The package starts from there.  Someone will be ready to pick you up at Kochi airport. They  will arrange a stay in a hotel. If you are a explorer of new places you can visit Jewish Synagogue, St.Francis Church, Dutch Palace, Chinese fishing nets etc.,

The Second day is an exciting tour to Munnar. It is around 110kms from Kochi airport. Munnar is a green hill station in Idukki district of Kerala covered with tea, coffee and Spice plantations. On the way to Munnar you can see some  amazing waterfalls like Valara waterfalls, Cheeyappara Waterfalls and   Karadippara View Point etc.,

MUST VISIT PLACES IN MUNNAR:

Mattupetty Dam, Kundala Lake, Indo-Swiss Project, Eravikulam National Park, Tea Museum, Anamudi, Pothamedu view point,  Attukad waterfalls are some of the must visit places from my list. Eravikulam National park has a collection of a wide variety of species. The tea museum here provides all the details from tea plantations to making tea by yourself. Here, there is also a chance to purchase fresh tea leaves.  Tea lovers enjoy it the most. Attukad waterfalls is also famous for its scenic beauty, in this climate with cool breeze. After visiting this place , I fell in love with this place right away. If I am not exaggerating, this place is a heaven on earth. It is not surprising that Munnar is known as the “Kashmir of South India”.

KERALA BACKWATERS:

Kerala backwaters are the freshwater lagoons which are passing parallel to Arabian Sea through Malabar Coast. The best places to experience Kerala Backwaters are Kumarakoam and Alleppey. If you have a chance to visit this place don’t miss to travel to Kumarakom or Alleppey to experience Kerala backwaters. Road transport is available to travel from Munnar to Alleppey or Kumarakom. Kerala  houseboats also called Kettuvallam are available to travel in these backwaters. You will get a chance to stay for a day/night on the boat and enjoy its scenic beauty surrounded by coconut trees. Don’t forget to take a camera with you to get lifetime memories.Though I didn’t mention sea food in this blog, it is a feast for seafood lovers. It is like a small cruise trip if there is no chance to travel to other countries for cruise experience.

What are you waiting for?

Plan your trip accordingly if you have a chance.
